Here at Mauna Lio, we have horses for every level of rider! While we do have English horses available, we cater more to the Western Rider. Riley is a Chestnut Arabian, suitable for Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced riders of all ages.
Riley has spent the summer of 2010 being trained for Dressage and general English riding. He can be ridden both Western and English, either on the trail or in the arena.

Lily is a beautiful Arabian, with tiny flecks of chestnut in her mostly-white coat. She is suitable for Advanced Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced riders of all ages.
Lily's best work is seen in the arena, where she can be ridden Western or English.

Buddy is a Chestnut Arabian, suitable for Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced riders of all ages.
Buddy is a sweet and gentle gelding, who has experience in everything from gaming to mellow trail rides. He can be ridden both Western and English, either on the trail or in the arena.

Birdie is a Spotted Draft mare. She stands roughly 16 HH and comes in right about 1200 lbs.
She is a sweet mare with a good mind. She will do whatever you ask, but she will make you ask! She is the one that all of the 'regulars' at the barn send their husbands to ride. Not much can shake this big girl!
Birdie is suitable for advanced beginners on up. She can be ridden Western or English.

Max is a Grullo Keiger Mustang, and stands about 13 1 HH.
He is an in-your-pocket kind of guy; he will follow you along the fence of his paddock if you are working around him, and will happily come to say hello when you come to visit the Barn.
He can be a touch stubborn at times, and is a good horse to help the (smaller) advanced beginner or intermediate rider take their skills to the next level!

Thunder is actually Max's father, another Keiger Mustang, who also stands about 13 1 HH.
Thunder is a nice little guy, and, while, like his son, he can be a little stubborn at times, he is another good choice for the advanced beginning or intermediate rider who would like to improve their skills.

The above horses are but a portion of the fun that can be had at the barn.
We offer fun things to occupy even the family members that are not son enthusiastic about horses are you are! Beach volleyball, a trampoline, picnic tables, and seasonal wild fruit! We have a little bit of something for every member of your family, and we can't wait to see you here at the Mauna Lio Ranch!
